2.0 mate, the llad told me it was a 1.8turb when we was sortin the deal out, needless to say , i got a sweeter deal when i found out it was a 2.0! mrs likes it tho, ive gotta put a wheel bearin in it at the weekend, but apart from that its all good.

The engine, I want to have a butchers at an 8valve crossflow to see if it will go into a mk2 easily. ABA is one of the engine codes I think?

youll struggle if you want to retain the head to match the block as its too tall hence the reason people put digipants heads on 2.0 8v blocks....

why put a 2ltr lump into a mk2 golf that struggles to push 115bhp?? 1800cc kr lump fits straight in and knocks 139 horses on stock injection or 160 on carbs....... easy decision....

Very true Gaz, but always good to have a look and a measure in case something comes at the right money. Saying that I'm probably gonna sell the Golf at the end of the year and get a vw van, caddy or something air cooled....

people always say im a jammy twat, i couldnt believe it last nite i went to fetch the docs for the golf, and give him some money, he gives me the docs, i go home to av a look, and notice that its had a plate change.

heres the good bit, its a 2002 model, and someones put a private y-plate on it!! hence the lad i got it off didnt know what it was worth, neither did i!!

rang dvla today, age related plate on its way f.o.c bargain.
