Subject: cant get new springs on Fri Mar 20, 2009 11:45 am
been tryin to undo top bolts on suspension leg on my 1988 polo c and have broken 1 pair of molegrips and 2 allan keys cannot get em off any ideas? by the way gonna chop the 40mm lowerin springs to give it extra lowness

Heat the nut up with a blow torch mate but you'll need a new nyloc type nut afterwards! Then undo it. Its best to use a cranked ended spanner and a allen key on these too.

Mine was the same mate, heat the nut on the strut top up and it'll undo.
