sam's Bora Dizzle

Well when I get back it's gonna be near shitty weather time and I've got tons of suspension work to do on the mk2 so will keep it off the road for a couple of weeks.

So, I'll be using this for a bit its a 1.9 TDI 110. I had it remapped to just under 140hp about a year or so ago when I used it for motorway miles. other than that its standard. ordered some bits and pieces to rid the blandness; coilies and a new set of discs and pads all round. I have a set of 18"s for it but need refurbing first.

Lol, I didn't take a pic of it after getting to the road. managed to cake the glass and doors, infact i had to take the wheels off as they ran out of balance with the mud on the inners!

the bora was good but kinda took a backseat whilst the golf stole the attention in the summer.

gonna have a stab at reconning them and polishing the edges to f**k

Update: ordered coilies and loads of interior bits as the grey is shi*e imo, new n/s rear window sourced, tints are booked, new windscreen getting fitted next weekend and a black set of seats and rear bench.

what u doing with the old seats sam?? wonder if they are the same sort of runners as all the other vws?gonna look sweet when u get back and get it sorted!

Hmmm, not too sure atm as I can't remember the exact condition of them. Once i get back I'll have a look. They are grey though...

Most probably for a few beers someone can take them away

Home! So got a new windscreen fitted, new pair of aero wipers and started ripping the old grey interior out. Sprung a leak so bought a new rad from gsf to fit Monday. Pics to follow as it got dark so quick!

In order to keep the mk2 clean and accessible to work on its suspension over the winter, I've put my Bora back on the road.



All I had done to it was a remap up tp just short of 140bhp as it was a motorway mile muncher when I was at Uni. 50mpg FTW!!!

Thing is it was stood for 8 months so I had a few issues over last weekend to nail:

+ Cracked windscreen - New one fitted saturday (pennies = ouch!)
+ New 'Aero' Wipers
+ ABS Fault - the 2 green fuses on the battery top needed cleaning thats all (common problem)
+ Water leaking from radiator - fitted a new one yesterday
+ New APEC Discs and pads - fitted all round, changed and bled the fluid
+ Shabby grey cloth interior -Bought a new black recaro interior which is half fitted now, just the door cards to do tomorrow
+ 'Fogged' offside headlight unit - sourced some units from an '04 bora being broken and fitted them along with some xenon bulbs

Fitted an iPod connection kit and Parrot Bluetooth kit and then made a start on reconditioning these 18" wheels I used to roll it on:

these are the wheels that have sat and festered in the shed for the last 10 months














Coliovers fitted and lowered but not all the way as I need to give it a good run so it all settles before I set the final ride height with the 18's.... so it doesn't look quite right yet.

Its made a huge difference and I'll couple it to a strut brace when that turns up. Just need a dry day to lacquer the wheel rims now. It will go lower...

Well the interior needs the final plastic trim changing out when all the bits turn up. Gonna get the wheels fitted tomorrow and then the tracking setup.

Decided to slam these wheels on but just recon the inners and poilish the rim edges, until I take it off the road and put golf on in the summer. Then I'll blast them and start from scratch. Inners are all done just polishing left:













polishing is taking longer than anticipated but will get pics once on the car

just the one pic... she's dirty and it got too cold outside so didn't bother to drop it this afternoon. I'll wind it down a further 2 inches in the morning. Exhaust is all back together welded and sound 8-)
