Phil's Polo 9N

hello, just a bit of a WIP thread to let you guys know whats happening

this is the 1.4 mk4 that i used to have.
i got rid of this car due to it been rubbish tbh lol


i then needed to get a newer car that will be more reliable.
after alot of mooching about i found this car.
a 1.4 TDi Sport with every extra except leathers.
in mint conditon.




after staying standard for about a week i replaced the exhaust with the exhaust from a skoda fabia vrs.
(the exhaust tip still hits my bumper on bumps though )



then nothing happened to the car for a month or so as i'm only a poor 19 yr old apprentice.

after owning the car for 2 months the tracking was so badly out that my tyres were bald down to metal on the insided so i needed new tyres.
a perfect oppotunity to invest in some new shoes.

found these BBS II split rims for sale in excellent condition:

only problem was they had mahusive tyres on.

got the correct tyre size on them, and put the on the car:




now the car looked like a tractor but as i needed to get to work on the crap A180 road that was ok with me!!

then whilse browsing the internet i found a votex full body kit.
as i have been looking for one for a long time i decided to buy as the price was low to say the least.
included all parts and fitting instructions and fitting kit. (with rock hard glue )
this price also included painting too. and what a good paint job also i must add
this is sat in my garage though until i can get it to a bodyshop or the weather warms up to fit it.


then the problems started:
firstly my injectors decided to break, VW charged me nearly 500 to fix.
but now runs smoothly.
then on the way home from work my front suspension spring decided to break.
not only did it break but also came off the car, just missing the bmw that was overtaking me.
and as i needed new springs and bearings on the car i decided this was the best time to introduce my cars underneith to the floor.
lowering kit went on, lowering the front approx -60mm and back about -50mm.



this picture shows the gap (still a big gap) in the arch and my poorly alloy.
the centre cap got stolen, and the polished lip has also died.

nothing i do to it removes the sh!t that is on it. (maybe a few tips to get it shiny again here )

the zebra, ha ha.


then i got the votex kit fitted:



the car stayed like this as i was skint tbh lol

but one weekend i got bored and decided i wanted a sliver front grill..

can also see my shark fin aerial.

few recent pictures after a polish too:




i don't know from these pictures if you can see but the paint on my grill and aerial isn't a 100% match to my car so i shall be re doing it this weekend.
also be doing the scuff on my bumper and my reverse sensors.

i have 4 x 20mm spacers in the post too
and photoshop to come of my new ideas

looking good mate never really been one for kits but with this as its discreet makes it look good and liking your plans for the black wheels think it will look good, when you do the roof black are you having it painted or black transfer if you do the transfer you can always take it back to silver if your ever selling it on, but no liking this polo looks sweet mate

i was going to get a transfer thing. then also if i dont like it i can remove it.
i'm after some black alloys so i can refurb mine.or some 17" steelies
even though i have 4 sets in the garage

Nice ride mate. How well does it go? Ain't tried a 1.4 TDI before. How about a gunmetal roof?

i though gun metal, i'll have to see what alloys i can find lol

it's about the same as my 1.4 8v petrol i had. jut a bit friendlier on fuel but after 2k (turbo kicks in) then it does seem to go.

i have a remap, full sports exhaust and other engion mods planned when i get a pay rise so begining of the year.

looks sweet as bud,good luck with the plans!! its mad on here gone from no polo's to 3 in no time at all! lol!

no mate,reckon theres a couple of the older style! not sure on the mk's for polo's?

My mrs has a mk4 too! not for too much longer though, hopefully.

Pictures are poor but theres a local meet tomor so there will be some better ones from that.

i like that mate can never be to low lol unless you getting some serious rubbage but like it on steelies looks cool

na i've got some 17" porsche alloys to go on when i can be bothered. it needs to go up a bit as its just on the floor and the motorway to work will kill it
