Cig Lighter?

Hi, I have recantly fitted a cig lighter socket to my car, fitted the ground to ground and live to a fuse then straight to the battery (ie permanant live) no relays or nothing, When i put the cig lighter element in it will stay in for 10-15 seconds and come out red hot as its supposed to, so the wiring is correct for that, BUT when i put a accessory in like a sat nav it blows the fuse in the sat navs plug. I cant figure out why its doing this theres no dodgy termanels as i have soldered them ALL up, so what could it be? good wiring, correct fuse in holder (15a) and the sig lighter is from vw?

Sat nav may draw too much current for a 15 amp fuse but I'd doubt that. Is the wire thick enough? Is the earth (ground) going the a good, clean, paint free part of the body? Most fag lighters are only on a 10 amp fuse on the same circuit as radio permanent live so can't really see why it does that. Try another accessory like a phone charger and see if it still happens. The centre pin should be positive and the outer earth.

ye the center is live and center is the earth, and i have earthed it to the earth points behind the fuse board so its gotta have a good earth or the whole car would be playin up wunnit? I dont know what size the wire is but its the same thickness as the other wires on the car so that must be ok, its funny though why its doing it.
