width or diameter mate? You can put anything on them realy it al depends how far you are prepared to go with suspension kits, camber shims, spacers and cuting th arches to bits

ive got a set of 17" diameter wheels they take 8" tyres. they are five stud but im gonna make some spacers that will adapt from the 4 to 5. i tried them on without tyres or spacer and they look like they might fit without any major mods.... i hope!!! JIM

Normaly you can get 17's on a mk2 without any problems, although if it isnt lowerd it will look a bit silly, Im not to sure how its going to sit with the adaptors on because it wil change the et mate! Your going to have to play it by ear and see what you come up with!
You can normaly pick up cheap ish rims if you decide you dont want to go ahead with the 17's anyway

cheers mate i have seen a picture on here of some 17s on a mk2 so that fillled me with confidence!! im starting to refurb my wheels in the morning so ill post pics of progress JIM
