Subject: MK3 golf head lamp woes.... Mon Oct 08, 2007 5:47 am
Hi got a mk3 golf 1.4 on an M plate and can't get the headlamps to work properly. Side lights are all ok as a dip beam from the dash board switch. They will flash on the column stalk but you can't cycle from dip to full on the stalk. Any ideas? Thought it might be a relay so I got one but it doesn't seem to fit anywhere...

does the stalk itself not engage properly,when i did my mk2 steering column,i put it all back together and i couldnt go to dip or full beam,then ignition switch broke again so took it apart and found that i hadnt clicked that stalk in the right place so it was wedged on,might be something simple like that?!

Nice one. Will have to look as some one fitted a new switch about 13 months ago and we have just had to fit another and it doesn't work!

could be that?! the ignition switchs are a ballache,the relays are prone to going,but like i said mine just werent slotted in in the right place,hope u sort it!

Switch seems ok, I think some thing some where ain't getting any juice?

Sorted. Head lamp switch on the dash was broke as well!
