MORE BOOST!!!!.......Our Matt's Caddy GTD

he got this Caddy for £180



fitted chopped down Range Rover bull bars



truck style exhaust



painted black



front end lowering.....first set of springs were well to low (rears coming down soon)

on the way to ED38

it used to be a 1.6 N/A Diesel........at some point since he's had it he's converted to a Turbo Diesel from a mk2 Golf GTD

these engines are intercooled, but the mk2 cooler wouldn't fit in the bay

we found a cooler from a Saab & it's now front mounted, behind the grille/in front of the radiator

Matt made up a 2” bore exhaust for his Caddy today, old system was 35mm bore at one point

idea is…….less back pressure = turbo spools up quicker[/color]

Right the other reason for the exhaust upgrade is the boost is to be up'ed soon

got a uprated mechnical diesel pump coming......off Tiz on EC-DC

"It has been built with a more aggresive camplate, a 10mm plunger/head. The govenor has been modified so it does not cut off your fuel untill 5400rpm. The boostpin has had a custom grind on it to increase fueling a lot more under boost and it has had a TDi timing cover on it allowing the timing piston to move further allowing further advanced timing"


"This pump will make some serious horsepower and torque on your TD. If you adjust the fueling and boost accordingly you will see 170-180hp easily"

so next on the shopping list is

boost gauge
boost bleed valve
exhaust gas temp gauge

i forgot that Matt's uprated the front brake a while back

Brembo Max grooved disks, Mintex Xtreme pads........rear's don't need an upgrade, there HUGE on Caddy's

Nice work Paul. Noticed my Passat 1.9TD does not have a relief valve so maybe you can dump it!
