Dunno, but mine fly's, feels really quick! Love it I do! Think mine was RR at 125bhp at the wheels - so would that be about 140-150 at the fly?

Well its easily a match for a valver.

I like the low torque, its not silly fast but fast enough.

Ive done the 20v conversion and Im not bothered about ultimate power just something more driveable than what Ive got now thats why i keep thinking about the vr6 conversion especially in the mk2. Just need Briggse to get his back on the road to see what they are really like

Ive gone and bought an X reg Peugeot 306 diesel estate not quite a vw but itll do and give me chance to mint up the mk2, the brakes all need sorting and today the heater blower packed in, I think im going to fit a 2.0l 8v engine to keep it standard looking but with a bit more power

piece of p**s, straight diesel or turbo?? either way there easy, use 2 13mm bolts to lock cam and pump, use a small allen key into hole behind starter to lock crank, and hey presto, nothin can move while you change belts.

AFAIK biggest reliable bore out is to 82.5mm which gives 1871cc (1900) although I think you can get 2000cc on just bore.....

Most 2000cc conversions involve a change of crank.

Other alternative is to find a 2.0 16v Passat with the 9A code motor.....

BTW, converting from Digifart to K-jet is apparently a pain in the butt cos nothing is the same (apart from the lift pump in the fuel tank!).

Cheers Jacko im using the 1800 motor cos its what my mates already got so Ill rebore it to 1900 then and I dont want to swop the crank, Ive had a think about the injection and Im going to try a different set up using a 1,8t fuel rail so I can ditch the K jet injection
