Yer, I've been looking at a 1.9 rebuild kit, and a CnC flowed head so it should be fairly tasty when I get it all sorted

I got it towed to a place in Lincoln as I was in the middle of town when it went. It was really weird, was still running but just really rough. But air was being pushed back through the air filter, and there was a little steam from under the oil filler cap.

Golfs still in the garage, yet to be seen. Going to a different place tomorrow who have time to actually look at it. They recon it sounds more like the timing has slipped a couple of teeth instead of the head gasket.
As for the Rado, a phone call to G Werks today has priced up my dream engine, watch this space as she should soon be running something very tasty

Brought my new engine earlier. It's still a G60 lump, but rebored to 1.9, big valve head and an IHI turbo conversion. dont know weather to run the turbo or put my supercharger on it.

Kinda, but my Mk4 golf is still in the garage. It's had a tappet explode which in turn has fooked the cam shaft and the head, so my new engine might have to sit there til I recover finacially from that!!

Time for an update.
Car is off to Sub 11 next weekend to have the new engine fitted.
Unfortunately it's time to say goodbye to the howle of the supercharger and hello to 300bhp of raw turbo grunt!
Should get it back the following weenkend, and hopefullt in time for the new wold run date

Cars currently at Sub 11, should have had it back this weekend but James has flu so I'll have to wait a bit for it to be finished.

She's back and all I can say is WOW!!!

Better update this!
Last few months have been emotional! Started off running ace and was quick as fook!
She then developed a little running problem that was intermittant and gradually got worst. Risked it at a RR day and wish I hadnt as it made 180bhp before the run was called off due to it running shi*e. problem got diagnosed as ignition related so got busy and finnaly fixed it with a new coil pack!!
She's now back running and quick as fook again

I love this warm weather. On the look out for a 2nd set of wheels, perferably 17's and very light as they will be wrapped in a set of Toyo 888's. I need traction!!!
I also need a side mounted camera, to catch to look on peoples faces when I overtake, especially the scooby today

glad u got it sorted in the end mate! i bet peoples faces are a picture,especially in the scoobs,watch out for a silver/grey one without a rear spoiler,newer shape,its a copper!!

I think the fuel pump is on it's way out though now:( I have a 16v pump under the car and it was making an horrific racket earlier, and even cut out as I lost all power:(

Rado's still going strong, just cant get enough of the turbo. It sucks in this weather and has spent the last week on the driveway in favour of my A4 Quattro.
Borbets have been sold, they looked ace but weighed a ton, plus had no clearance for some big brakes so I now have these
