its having a full respray this year and new interior i might even get round to fitting the golf abd engine thats sat in the garage for it if i get my van done.

oh and im planning on notching the subframe so it can go lower

on subject of back to black I use ground nut oil from tesco, doesnt smell as bad as linseed or as messy as peanut butter but does the job and its cheap

If you're still looking at putting Mk2 bumpers on you're going to have some problems with the front end since it's completely different behind the bumper you've got.

Mk2 without a bumper is like this.


Mk3 without a bumper is mostly just a crossmember so you'd have to replace all of the metal where the bumper was. I can't seem to find any shots of a Mk3 without a bumper to show you, but I'm sure you can find out for yourself. While you could, in theory, just swap the bonnet and wings and weld/bolt on a new valance, from what I'm told it's a lot of work to do.

i know all this also had a mk2 wiv no bumpers and in closer inspection found it all to be different behind there but the work dfoesnt scare me i can can get all my weldin done frm my m8 at CarWerks in lincoln....just need a donor vehicle

ive had bout 10 cars since the type 25 rangin frm a shitty clio to a vectra wiv a pug 206 2000 plate in there too....decided i wanted old skool polo again...i had a dutty 6n but if im honest fuckin 6ns are toss....well they are if u as big as me......ciuncil was gonna evict us if we didnt get rid of the van some twat round ere grassed like....along wiv the wife moanin at the never endin pile of cash goinj into it had to get rid.....to ve fair mate still guts me lost £1000 out of that
