erm, ok, 8mnths late but here's my vento...

lol, As some of you know, I bought this back in june just in time for vegas for the princely sum of £275 with 7mnths mot and a genuine 59k miles!



after the show i set to and fixed the rear arches as they were not looking good! Also did my usual and built an exhaust from a scrap centre box and an old peco tip i had hanging about!





so i drove her to several meets over the summer (fitted a new sunroof to, courtesy of jackovw, and don't worry, i haven't forgotten i owe you for it...) until some bint stopped in front of me and this happened...


the dented bumper popped straight out but i had to drive it around a bit crooked until I aquired the front end off pete/adi's mk3gti.

so, just before xmas, these:

appeared at my door! (well, my neighbours door but thats another story,)

and were dutifully fitted that weekend!


it's fixed 60mm on adjustables as i was more interested in fixing the boat like handling than stance this time lmao



splitter lasted all of 5 minutes so i've re-fitted the vento bumper with it's smaller, neater splitter. Eagle eyed readers may notice it still wears a vento bonnet. this should be getting sorted tomorrow night, although it'll be metallic purple until i break out the paint in about march time.

so there she is. Currently eyeing up wheels, toss up between a couple but i'm not giving anything away yet.

Get the rest of the wheels painted with black centres and the front end colour coded to match the body and you can't go wrong. Maybe tint out the rear lights too so they match the back panel?

Nah its staying fairly standard bar the front end. I've got a set of vr6 sideskirts that I may fit. The wheels are actually volvo grey green, not far off the fieldgrau of the early war German army lmao.

If I can get a set of vr6 vento rear lights i'll fit them. Whole car should be getting blown over come marc h time before show season lol.

blame my shonky monitor (seriously, it's got this weird letterbox-lighting thing going on) for not seeing the colour properly XD

I always get confused with VW models after about '88, but is the Vento the successor to the Jetta?

Vento Is the mk3 jetta in the us and other countries. Vw decided they wanted to move away from the golf with a boot image... Didn't work its still a golf with a boot... Lol

Being an early model mine has the non self destructing glove box handle which is handy.

Handles like a dream now just needs more power as 90hp in a bug car is just not enough...
