no skateboards this time around, I'l be investing in an engine crane! It won't be for months yet, got to get some moolah rolling in 1st, but you know I won't be paying a lot for a donor car, I only do conversions if they cost me nothing! I reckon I can master a conversion in a week now with a crane and if I strip everything I need from the donor in one go instead of taking bits off as I went along like last time.

ABF will mate up to my 4+E box with the 8v gti flywheel and clutch, so I can keep my cable clutch and decent MPG's but with 150bhp and good tuning possibilities, its a no-brainer really, no messing about with expensive 1.8T's and thirsty VR6's lol

il ask around mate coz i want one to how do you fancy going halfs on one then its there if any of us need it then saves us both buying one???????

I'l need ALL the running gear, looms and the subframe/rear axle (if I go widetrack), so the only bits that'l be left is the shell and interior mate

yes, yes I do lol. I've seen them pop up on ebay for around £50, worthwhile investment if you value your back and time! And a fold up one is a big bonus!

iv just been informed i need to buy a new camara first as the old one packed up today as emma was trying to take pics to put stuff on ebay BLOODY THING!!!!

lmao iv got a new sony ericsson cyber-shot that i though would be great for taking pics at shows and stuff but its not at all as good as they say it is

I've got the gti beam all stripped today, came apart nicely, Gary's just made me up a piece of brake pipe as one wouldn't play the game and come quietly! Just got to give the calipers a lick of paint and get the set up on the car tomorrow I also got my tracking done (badly, its going back!) so my RA's are back on. I've weighed in my spare PB block, rear beam, and gti gearbox today so I can now see some floor in my garage!

what fusebox are you running.

as the ABF on digi is made easier if you have a CE2 fusebox, its almost plug and play then apart from a few things.

dont expect fuel economy though cuz mine and a mates ABF mk2's are terrible.....thankgod i only drive mine a handful of times a year.

I'm on CE1 at the mo but I would convert to CE2 to make life easier. Fuel economy will be muchly improved as I'l be sticking with the 4+E box

Brakes actually work better too which I didn't expect, probably down to the duff brake shoes though!

Have you had to put a bias valve in the system on your golf? To stop over braking on the back axle?

And it was a newish looking one! You may notice I didn't use the backing plates, they were rotten and bent and generally looked nasty. I may get some new ones from VW at some point
