| Okay, I'll make a start but I'm not telling what it is til its ready..... Bought for not a lot off ebay, its VAG. No MOT or tax, been stood for 3 years. Bodywork is in good shape. Am in the process of sorting a few jobs out ready to put it in for a test. So far 1 - discs and pads all round 2 - rear lower arm bushes (waiting for the polybushes to arrive for that) 3 - n/s front hub - 1 of the bolts was seized in and when we smacked it with a big hammer, the upright broke  4 - n/s front spring - it was broken and wrapped around the spring seat! 5 - tyres - 3 are nearly slick and the 1 with good tread keeps going down..... 6 - alternator needs investigating - charge light is on, but dims when revved so hoping its just the regulator. 7 - some bugger has nicked half the bulbs out the lights  Other than that, I can't really see anything wrong with it - even a fault code read only showed up 3 codes, 2 of which are to do with the battery being disconnected and the other was ABS on the n/s front hopefully caused by the disc being broken in 2!  Maybe off to Cheshire tomorrow to pick up some bits. Will sort some pics of the broken bits out and let you have a guess what I've got

| Not telling.........  Anyway, sorted another hub, spring and shock today so its now sat on the floor level, which is a start! Found it needs 1 of the front suspension links and am waiting on the bushes for the back end. Once they're done, got to sort the bonnet release out, a pair of tyres, the lights and its off for a test....... Oh, and wait for DVLA to send me a V5. | |

| OK, a couple of clues..... It's not Spanish or Czech. Here's a couple of pics I took yesterday.......   Spent yesterday changing the bushes in the back suspension and one of the front suspension links - found it also needs a steering track rod. Also extracted the alternator ready to send off for testing (hoping its only the regulator pack!) | |

| Bugger, spotted!!! Yeah, 96 N Audi A4, full leather, climate.  Oh, and its a 2.6 V6 Quattro!

| estates are the best looking imo. not surprised it was cheap, big engined cars with no TnT are ridiculously cheap now as not many people can afford to run/repair them. which means small engined learner cars are holding value, hence why i ended up getting evee a £100 saxo out of desperation lol | |

Nah,only a saloon. All the estates were fetching reasonable money. Will sort some proper pics out when I get it off my mates 2 post lift - currently sat with no front bumper or headlights cos to get the alternator out you have to unbolt the front panel!!! Had the alternator tested today and its fubar! Rectifier, regulator, brushes, bearings etc all knackered - but the pulleys alright! | |

| UPDATE!!!
Due to a slight lack of cash, this had stalled slightly - but I spent today sorting out the bonnet release - it now doesn't have one and has rally bonnet pins instead!
Took it for a run on the trade plates - wow, awesome doesn't cover it - goes sideways on snow whilst spraying snow and ice about 10 feet in the air out the back and thats on half worn road tyres.
Took some pics on my phone which I'll stick up later when I've sussed out how to transfer them to the laptop!
Should be able to get it in for MOT this week, just need to get a front number plate and its good to go. | |
